The World Learning 2011 Photo Contest is well underway. We’ve received hundreds of photos but there is still time to tell your story through the power of an image.

The deadline for submission is fast approaching – May 15th. Submit a photo if you are an alum of a World Learning program, including The Experiment in International Living, SIT Study Abroad, SIT Graduate Institute, International Honors Programs, or any of our World Learning inbound exchange programs. First and second place overall winners will receive  $500 and $300 travel vouchers, respectively.

This year’s photo contest winners will be chosen by the broader World Learning community through a “Viewers’ Choice” online voting process. Voting begins the last week of May so stay tuned for emails and more updates on how to vote – and how to get your fellow alumni to vote for your photo. But first, you need to submit a photo online. We’ve also created a “how to resize your photo” document to help you with the online submission process.

A few key dates you’ll want to remember:

  •  May 15: Photo Submission deadline
  • May 23: “Viewers’ Choice” voting begins
  • June 17: “Viewers’ Choice” voting ends

Click on the photos below to look at the 1st and 2nd place overall winners for the last 5 years. This year’s winner could by you…so submit a photo online today.

We hope these photos depict the power and transformation that takes place every day on our programs. They say a photo says a thousand words. What do these photos say to you? Tell us, which is your favorite World Learning photo contest winner…and why?
