Today we present a new series called “Scene and Heard” where we invite participants, students, staff and alumni to share stories about their World Learning experiences in new and different ways.
Every Friday we’ll share a painting, drawing, composition, comic strip, poem or sound recording from an artist, musician or writer that found creative inspiration during a World Learning program.
We start our series with Diego Guzmán, a music student who studied at the University of Utah last year through the Global UGRAD program. Guzmán’s composition was inspired by a visit to Zion National Park, and is named after Angels Landing, his favorite vantage point in the park. The piece is “an attempt to recreate the sense of awe, vastness and even mystique” that ran through Guzmán when he hiked through the park.
